Multiplication Table 100 X100

HE CALLED ME A FAGGOT

Go to last Friday the only day of the Festival Inrocks which I will attend. This is the price of insecurity and especially his request at the last moment Accred. We start with Free Energy , five big fellows from Philadelphia. If disk I found them dull and unattractive, on stage it is otherwise. Totally excited, they dance and jump around. Their energy is already since the first ranks began to fidget. Although I still HOOK to their music, too smooth, their live performance made me want to give them a second chance.

[LENS MODE OFF] There is not only to them that the scene is successful, to believe it just watch the performance of Blood Surfer, that night at La Cigale. When we had met there a few months that they were in the euphoria of the beginning of one of their first trips to Europe. After 7 months of touring non-stop, walk in to and fro across the entire United States and Europe today, living and sleeping in their van, they kept their babies boiled but the lines are drawn .

Stage Invasion of Free Energy during the "Swim" from Blood Surf @ La Cigale

On stage, it is not, quite the contrary. The enthusiasm of the early days is still present, the more precision. If their concert last May had charmed me, it convinced me: small Surfer Blood are grown. One feels, in these worshipers Pavement, they have grown-from-some might say matured, they are no longer content to reproduce the pieces of their album, but now they inhabit fully. Whether it's on their hit "Floating Vibes " which sounds heavier, more bitter or on "Twin Peaks " where the voice of PJ, as clear as spring water starts without difficulty in the treble, better to return a call for the chorus. Not to mention "Catholic Pagans" (ultimate favorite) , which never sound like a cicada that ends finally warming up. moment of joy to 'Swim "where Free Energy the joined onstage in a merry mess when Marcos or just play with the public perceived . A half-hour concert and that's already gone. Not satiated for a penny is already dreaming of attending one of their concert in the company of Interpol in his last European tour. [LENS MODE ON]

ensued the long awaited Carl Barat. If the gentleman did some work on the poster US-American tendency to surf rock tonight, he is doing brilliantly. Alternating solo pieces to those Libertines or Dirty Pretty Things , You take all the As, for the greater pleasure of the ladies. It's very pretty but very polite to one of the former leader of sulfur Libertines. Yet Carl made efforts to connect with his audience, bad luck he has still not learned to articulate and we do not understand much, but it's the thought that counts, right? Special mention to cello and bass-cons who accompanied him, to magnify the solo pieces, give up the desire of some to give a second chance on his last album. Still, the public is particularly disappointed that Pete did not come, proving once again that the two lads have never been so good together. One likes to believe that new album is being prepared, wait and see.

The Drums @ La Cigale Festival Inrocks 2010, Paris.

To close the evening, I call it the band of the moment: The Drums . After seeing them on the big stage Eurockéennes , here they are headlining the festival Inrocks before Carl Barat, is saying they are "huge" in Europe. Properly seated in our chairs on the 1st floor you can admire the footwork of Jonathan Pierce (singer) but again Mr Tambourine Man that our favors. They, too, is taken from the body during the summer, the pieces win in relief and offer a second reading of their album. The public is in a trance and it seems not only because during "Let's Go Surfing " Marcos ( Blood Surfer) will get him to throw into the crowd . Special mention to "Down By The Water " which closes their show on a sadder note, but certainly shows that those who still doubted that the Drums is not that good at skipping and whistling.
